Amsterdam, 18.05.09 - While young Norwegian singing sensation Alexander Rybak was on the way to his historic victory in this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, the media center in Cologne was bustling with activity. Here in the western German media city is the Master Control Center of digame mobile, the company entrusted with handling the pan-european televoting for
the ESC by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
Digame mobile has been coordinating the national televotings of all 43 participating nations for the last 14 years, involving more than forty TV stations all over Europe and no less than 150 different telephone companies. To handle the enormous data flow digame mobile devised the pan-european televoting platform P.E.R.P ™ which is able to immediately sort every incoming call and
text message towards the right country. A novelty in 2009 was the re-introduction of jury-voting that counted 50% towards the final results of each nation and which was also handled by the platform.
The executive producers at the venue and the hosts in all participating TV studios in Europe receive the results within minutes after the voting has ended. Independent inspectors
monitor and control P.E.R.P’s results carefully and are always very satisfied with the results. So digame mobile will be part of the Eurovision Song Contest again when it will be hosted in
Norway next year!
